Any HTML5 creatives must have an initial/polite load size under 100k, and ideally progressively load on user interaction.

Converting SWF (Flash) to HTML5

With modern browsers adding ever increasing obstacles to rendering Flash, SWFs will no longer be flighted.

However, tools like Google Swiffy can be used to convert these to HTML5 easily.

Amends to the HTML will be required to make it DFP-compatible. Instructions can be found here.

To prepare SWF files for conversion, they must be exported to DFP specs (here).

All SWFs need to be exported at Flash 10.1 or lower, Actionscript 2.0 (AS 3.0 is allowed but not recommended).

Flash ads require a ClickTag button for click tracking. AS 2.0 code is below. AS 3.0 is allowed but must be compatible with Google DoubleClick.

on (release) { getURL(_root.clickTag, "_blank"); }

Frame Rate: Must be no more than 20fps. Animation Length: ads must not loop more than three times or exceed a total of 30 seconds animation time.

Audio: No host-initiated audio is permitted on squaremile.com. Audio must be user-initiated by clicking within the banner and must contain clearly visible "Mute" and "Stop" functionality.

Video: Video can be host or user-initiated.

Any exceptions need prior approval.
